Spring has sprung

It may still be raining outside but it really feels like Spring is on its way! The brighter evenings lift my spirits and I can finally get out into the jungle garden! The next few months should see a big transformation to the back garden with a nice patio area, a la:

So exciting! Somewhere we can lounge but also have a separate eating area!

In the meantime, sun fills the living room through the grey clouds...

I am also trying to grow my own sweet pea, sweet william, sunflower, cherry tomato and rucola, from seed!

First time I have done this but it should hopefully give me some satisfaction to see something grow right from the start, instead of just buying the things fully grown. Could be a complete disaster but I'll give it a try!

The plan is to plant out the sweet peas into rectangular tubs and grow them up a lattice at the back of the garden. The smell you get from them is just divine and they work well as a cut flower, encouraging more growth and filling your home with yummy aromas! The sunflowers will go alongside the garage(hopefully!)

Meanwhile, I have a content young boy in front of me who slept from 1120pm-6am!! Safe to say I'm in a pretty good mood!!

Now into town and out for dinner later...
